Give Me A Break

Dear Editor,

This letter is in response to an article regarding the lawsuit of Donessa Parrish over the shooting death of her son by police. Thank God the justice system finally worked and did not give her one red cent. What nerve of her to seek a pluck nickel! What should the police (Lieutenant) have done? Waited until her son pulled the trigger in his face from the loaded handgun he was carrying? The [same] gun that he was using to rob innocent people? Parrish got what he deserved, and what a disgrace that the NAACP described him as a young man who died while attempting to get his life together. Since when does robbing people with a gun, being a gang member, and fighting with police/resisting arrest and attempting to shoot them constitute "getting his life together?" What a joke.

And the irony that this article was sandwiched in between the three Rockaway dirt bags that murdered P.O. Timoshenko, and attempted to kill his partner, Herman Yan, not Martin Yan as the article incorrectly states. Additionally, a Far Rockaway Sergeant has lost his eye, and will suffer unknown debilitating effects after being stabbed in the eye by an emotionally disturbed person last week. Maybe the Sergeant's family should sue the EDP's family … oh wait, it's all in a day's work for the NYPD. So in that case, the loss of his eye is okay, job hazard that he is compensated for bi-weekly right? I think not.
