Caroline Is Unqualified
In last week's edition of the Wave, Stephen Wohl commented that Caroline Kennedy, being a political virgin and a passionate advocate for the underprivileged, qualified her to be a United States Senator. However, this is simply not true. Kennedy may never have been elected to public office, but that has not stopped her from cultivating a close relationship with Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who recently has revealed himself to be an embodiment of dirty politics and corruption. Bloomberg aggressively pushed her candidacy because it would have propelled his third, (and illegal), mayoral campaign to almost certain success by garnering the support of Kennedy and by extension the Democratic Party. Also, Caroline not only condones the political opportunism associated with her family, she embraces it. This became glaringly obvious during February of last year, when along with her uncle the murderer and her cousin the drunk, she endorsed Barack Obama against Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries, betraying a family that had helped the Kennedy's enormously. She then sought to profit off Hillary's ascension to the State Department, when Clinton should have been in the Oval Office. Finally, in her aborted pursuit of a US Senate seat she showed herself to be an inarticulate, incompetent, daughter of privilege, who in the family mold figured she could live off a name.
