Response To Ms. Name Withheld

Dear Editor,

First off, I would like to open this letter to you by saying that a lot of us "Belle Harbor Girls" support the PS 114 school crossing guard, Theresa. Secondly, I would like to ask who the coward is that wrote a complaint letter to The Wave without signing her name, however did name and call

out the school crossing guard? That is very wrong in my opinion, aside from

being low class.

There are more community members that trust the school crossing guard and honor her rules regarding whom she allows down that block. I have family members that have lived in this neighborhood for more than 30 years, who, themselves, went to PS 114 as children. They have their own children in Pre-K at PS 114. Those family members will park on Beach 133 Street and walk to go pick up their children. Why do they do this? Because they are honoring the rules of the school crossing guard who is merely carrying out the enforcements put forth by her superiors. My family members do not question, disobey, yell and/or curse at her. They have class. They do not make a loud ruckus. They park their cars and they walk to get their children.

To accuse someone of discrimination, who is only trying to do her job and protect the school zone, is downright UN-ethical. I have heard more stories about nasty parents verbally abusing this poor school crossing guard than I have heard about her "DISCRIMINATION." That tells me that there is something wrong with the parents. Although, those stories are hearsay, so I will just express that IF in fact that is true, shame on those parents.

I am certain, Ms. "Name withheld," that when your child is in the upper grades of PS 114, and might be in danger of getting injured upon dismissal, you will be in full support of Theresa, who is trying to protect her.

So, in conclusion, rather than prolong your inappropriate and spoiled tirade about contacting the news and the president, for crying aloud, why don't you nominate Theresa as this year's Grand Marshall in the St Patrick's Day parade. She is just doing her job and doing it well, in spite of parents like you. I am sick of people's skewed views of right and wrong. Pick your head up please and look at the big picture here.
