Local Students Named To Oneonta's Dean's List
The State University of New York College at Oneonta recently announced the names of 1,317 students who earned Dean's List honors for the fall 2008 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, undergraduate students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 semester hours or more.
The SUNY College at Oneonta, which enrolls more than 5,800 students, is a liberal arts college with a pre-professional focus. Established as a state normal school in 1889 and incorporated as a founding member of the state university system in 1948, the college is well known for its outstanding faculty, strong academic programs, educational technology, community service and character-building activities, and scenic campus.
The following local students were named to the Dean's List: Michael Gorra of Breezy Point; Nickeema Cox and Ariane Torees of Far Rockaway; Katherine Lawrence of Rockaway Beach; and Karen D'Ambrosi of Rockaway Point.
