JASA Celebrates The Inauguration

JASA Roy Reuther Senior Center celebrated the inauguration of Barack Obama with a bagel breakfast. The senior center was decorated in red, white, and blue balloons, tablecloths and paper goods. One hundred twenty-five seniors watched the inauguration on a 50-inch-screen television, starting at 9 a.m. They watched the arrival of the dignitaries and swearing in of the new president and vice president. They cheered, shouted, prayed, stood and clapped as they watched the ceremony. During President Obama's speech, the seniors were rapt in silence, hanging on to every word. Lunch was served late on January 20, 2009 and no one even noticed!!! It was a great day for America and a great day for Roy Reuther Senior Center.
