Letting Go Of Your Baggage

Dear Editor,

Sometimes we say that life can be so unfair. We married the wrong person or we lose our jobs or our mother didn't love us. We don't have any real friends; we can't trust anyone. So we fall into this hole. For years we hold onto these negative feelings. There's no way out, so we think. We are stuck in the mud trying to pull ourselves out but when we try to get up the deeper we fall into this hole. We begin to feel comfortable so we just keep wallowing in this hole, holding onto resentments until we think that we grow old alone and are about to lose our minds. Lo and behold, we keep pulling ourselves up. We may slip and fall back but we have to keep trying. One day we call out to God and can't take it anymore. "God help me," but what we don't realize is that God was right there in the hole with us.

He said, "Take my hand and I'm with you and have been with you all the time." So now it's time to come out of the hole and leave all that garbage and mud that you have been holding onto. Leave it in the hole. Finally, you're free.
