NPS Sets Late-Riser Winter Bird Walk

If you just can't quite get up early to go bird watching, the National Park Service has something just for you.

On Sunday, January 25, you can start out late for a late-riser walk to birdwatch with a park ranger says a spokesperson for Gateway National Recreation Area.

Beginning at 11:00 a.m., explore Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge until 1:00 p.m.. Meet some of the bird migrants who think this is south. See winter residents in the gardens and waterfowl on the West Pond. Make sure you dress for the weather. Participants are urged to bring their own binoculars.

The program is free, but advance registration is requested. Call the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge at 718-318-4340 for more information.
