SJEH Names Parsad To Emergency Department
St. John's Episcopal Hospital has announced the appointment of Rajiv Prasad, MD, as Associate Director of the Emergency Department. Prasad names one of his pressing goals at St. John's as the improvement of the Emergency Department's electronic medical record system. "I want to see the system interface with all areas of the Hospital in a seamless way and eventually connect to area nursing homes and adult-assisted facilities," he explains. He will also be a key player in the Emergency Department's goals to improve patient satisfaction, decrease length of stay, and decrease waiting times.
Prasad is a member of the new leadership team taking shape at St. John's Emergency Department. "We welcome Dr. Prasad and his expertise and talents to St. John's," said Eric Nazziola, MD, Chairman of the Emergency Department at St. John's. "He is the
caliber of physician, board certified in emergency medicine, whom we are seeking to recruit to improve care in the Rockaways." Recently St. John's forged a partnership with Mount Sinai School of Medicine to strengthen its leadership and recruitment of board certified emergency physicians. The partnership also includes developing patient protocols. Prasad previously worked at Mount Sinai Hospital ofQueens, where he served as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Administrator of the Emergency Medicine Information System. He received his Bachelor's degree in biology, magna cum laude, from Rutgers University, and his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He did a general surgery internship at Robert Wood Johnson and completed his emergency medicine residency at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx.
