SJEH Offers Talks On Medication Management
Learning to manage your medications and take better control of your health care is the topic of lectures called "HealthSense" scheduled to be held at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. The hour-long programs address critical healthcare skills including reading medication labels correctly and fully; using the proper dosage tools for medications; use of a medical journal to manage and track information such as symptoms, medications, side effects and important contact information and managing multiple medications.
The HealthSense lectures are open to the general public and provide free magazines in English and Spanish, pill caddies, large prescription labels, and samples of dosaging tools and medical journals. HealthSense is funded by a grant from the United Hospital Fund.
The program will be offered at the hospital's Boardroom, 327 Beach 19 Street, first floor, Far Rockaway on Mondays, January 26, February 23 and March 23 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
