FR Man Accused of Kidnapping, Sexual Assault
Police arrested a Far Rockaway man this week after he and an accomplice allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a 14-year-old girl in Connecticut.
Christopher Brown, 21, of 568 Barbados Drive in Far Rockaway and Hollis resident Erik Heyward, 21, allegedly picked up the teen in New London and brought her to a Groton motel last Sunday, according to police.
The unidentified teen told Groton police that she was walking on a New London street, near a middle school, when somebody grabbed her by her hood and pulled her into the back seat of a car.
She said that she feared for her life as one of the men, later identified as Brown, held her down in the back seat while Heyward, who was driving the car, turned up the radio so that nobody could hear her screams.
At the Windsor Motel on Route 184, the two men sexually assaulted her several times, police say. She added that the two men constantly smoked marijuana while they took turns assaulting her.
She said that she faked falling asleep and that the two men left the room. She ran out of the room and found a telephone in another motel nearby and called police.
Police set up surveillance at the hotel and arrested the two men when they returned at about 12:49 a.m. with another woman in the car.
The men were arrested and charged with first degree sexual assault, first degree kidnapping and risk of injury to a minor. They were both arraigned and held in a New London jail.
On Monday, December 29, they went before a New London magistrate who set the bond at $300,000 and continued their case until January 13.
