Sanders Hosts Obama Inauguration Celebration Watch Party

For those who can't make it to Washington D.C. for the inauguration (or are afraid to fight through the crowd for a good view of Obama), there is another option courtesy of Councilman James Sanders Jr. The event will take place at Sanders' Laurelton office located at 226-18 Merrick Boulevard, second floor from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Sanders' hopes that many come out to share this historic moment. He encourages that people from all walks of life come together as Obama supporters with their hats, pins and shirts in tow.

"I never dreamt I would have lived in a time where America would select an African-American to the highest position in the land. President Obama's election is a testament that our ancestors didn't die in vain," said Councilman Sanders. "I'm urging all to come out and celebrate this historic occasion together," ended Sanders.
