A group of dancers from the Rockaway Theatre Company's Beginner and Advanced Tap workshop entertained residents of the Peninsula Hospital Nursing Home's Alzheimer's Unit on Saturday, December 20.

Along with their instructor/choreographer Catherine Lieb, Barbara Tawil, Nora Coughlin and Maureen McNamee laced up their tap shoes to bring some holiday entertain-ment to the residents.

The event was coordinated by Susan Hines, an employee with the Alzheimer's unit.

The patients, who insisted that each routine be performed twice, and dancers, who honored those requests, were thrilled.

"This was an awesome experi-ence. It was truly wonderful to be able to bring some joy to people who really need it," said Joann Bryne.

"We don't always get a chance to experience the true meaning of this holiday, first hand.

That's why I love being a part of the Rockaway Theatre Company."
