for larger version       BCAC Green Peanuts Defeat Glen Cove Last Saturday, the BCAC Shamrocks went up against a tough Glen Cove team. During extreme weather conditions, veteran Quarterback Luke Jackowski took control of his offense and engineered four scoring drives for the victorious Shamrocks. The "Thunder & Lightning" combo of Michael O'Connell and Mike Sirota started the scoring off with a pair of 60 and 40-yard touchdowns. Joey Iannello, who shined on both offense and defense, scored a 30-yard touchdown. Mike Sadowski joined the fun with a 24-yard touchdown. The play of the game though was Nick Galimi's fourth down 26-yard run to keep a key scoring drive going. None of this scoring would have been possible without the effort put forth by the Shamrocks offensive line led by Philip Benoit, Aidian Clifford, Tommy Corbett, and Ryan Hanning. The defense was just as stellar as the offense. Sebastian Freiberg and Kevin Koestner (who just recovered from 101 degree) combined for 11 tackles. Daniel Colleran and Billy Hartman playing in their first ever football game seemed to always be in Glen Clove's backfield creating havoc.
This huge win was possible because of an all around team effort. Next Saturday at the Broad Channel Field, the Shamrocks will battle Bethpage. So please come and root on these gridiron warriors.
