Freddie Giglio
Independent Contractor

Freddie Giglio, a longtime Rockaway resident, died June 25. He was 65.

Giglio, a contractor, was born in Brooklyn on July 7, 1942. He worked as a taxi driver for Surf Car Service in the 1980's. During that time he was shot several times, while on duty. Giglio, well-known on the Rockaway peninsula, worked in construction with his brother Sammy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Beatrice Giglio.

He is survived by his daughters, Denise (James) Coye (nee Giglio) and Rosemary (Billy) Otto; sons, Freddy Giglio Jr., Tony (Jennifer), Tommy (Lisa) and Donald; grandchildren, James, Anthony and Krystle Coye, Tiffany, Anthony, Skyla, Dawn, and Freddy Giglio and 10 others; brothers, Sammy (Dotti) and Vinny; sister, Leanora Giglio Moore; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home. Services were held at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. All other arrangements were kept private.
