Catherine Goldberg, a longtime Rockaway resident, died May 14.

Goldberg was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was the past president of PS 114 Parent Teacher Association and longtime CYO coach. She was involved in many community activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and brother, Thomas Coons.

Goldberg is survived by her sons, Keith (Marybeth), Gregory (Mary); daughter, Kimberly (Kenneth) Green; grandchildren, Joseph, James, Patrick, Caroline, Alex, Maggie, Peter, Catherine and Jake.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, with visitation to be held on Friday, May 16, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 17 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church. All other arrangements were kept private.
