John H.Coburn
Former Resident

John Coburn, a former Rockaway resident, died May 8. He was 69. Coburn was born in New York on November 22, 1938. He moved to Rockaway Park at the age of two and moved to Michigan in 1974. He served in the US Army and the National Guard and retired from Shell Oil Company. He was a member of the Lions' Club and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Kathleen (nee Duffy) Coburn.

Coburn is survived by his wife, Julie (nee Riordan); daughter, Christa (Abram) Roisman; son, James M.; granddaughter, Cassandra Roisman; sister, Margaret M. Coburn; nieces, Thadda (Thomas) Layhem and Julieanna Connolly; and surrogate grandsons, Ian and Thomas Layhem.

Interment was at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Avon, Ohio.
