Windy, Wet Storm Blows Through Rockaway

Winds gusted as high as 45mph on Monday and the rain poured down, as the tailend of a strong storm blew through Rockaway, causing the tide to come up nearly to the boardwalk all along the peninsula, as well as causing some minor flooding. Monday was also the day that Rockaway's new ferry took off for from Riis Landing for the first time, in what some riders say was a bumpy ride. Photo by Nicholas Briano.
