The Road Less Traveled
Commentary By Erin Baumann

Congratulations to my brother Brian Baumann.

He is now officially registered to run in this year's New York City Marathon on November 2!

I can't wait to cheer him on in November.

Brian came in second in this year's Rockaway Rotary Run, behind Paul Hedderson (17:33), with a time of 17:42.

The next meeting for the Rockaway Relay for Life will be next Thursday, May 22 at the Irish Circle at 7 p.m.

As of today, $10,638 has been raised online.

Seventy-six people have registered online with a total of sixteen teams participating in this year's event.

The top three teams are the Breezy Point Pipe and Drum Band with $3,680, Who Loves Ya Baby with $2,256, and the Stellar Walkers with $1,135.

It is turning out to be a really exciting year with so many new faces having joined this year's Relay. I think it will be the best one so far. If you would like to be a part of the Relay, there still is time.

You can come to the Circle on the 22nd and also you can check out the website http://events.cancer.org/ RFLriispark NY.

My team, the Gurus, is hosting a benefit at Metro 53 on June 14.

The special, $40 a person from 8-11 p.m., with a portion of it going to benefit our team in this year's Relay for Life.

Please stop by and support us! http://www.metro53.com/

A new Bed and Breakfast, on the east end of Roxbury, is being built...just in time for the summer :) Take care, E
