for larger version       New Scholarship Program For Aspiring Nurses Assemblywoman Audrey I. Pheffer announced that the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has joined with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing to create a scholarship program that will help relieve the nursing shortage and increase the diversity in the field. The Foundation's New Careers in Nursing scholarship program will provide scholarships to college graduates without nursing degrees who have been admitted into accelerated baccalaureate and master's nursing programs, by giving grants to nursing schools. "This program is a wonderful way to try and alleviate the nursing shortage while bringing more diversity to the profession," said Pheffer.
The program will grant up to 500 scholarships of $10,000 each to selected schools over a three-year period. For information, visit www.rwif.org /cfp/newcareersinnursing or www. new careersinnursing.org.
