Eugene Russell, a Rockaway resident, died April 18.

Russell was an honored member of the Disabled American Veterans and Harmony Lodge Knights of Pythias; a WWII veteran, 34th Infantry Division; and a retired personnel administrator at SUNY Farmingdale.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian; children, Dr. Eric Russell (Dr. Sandra Fernbach) and the late Ronnye; grandchildren, Meredith and Abby; nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the I. J. Morris Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Interment was at New Montefiore Cemetery in Farmingdale.
