for larger version       Lessie Lawrence Lattimore Lessie Lattimore, a longtime Rockaway resident, died April 18. She was 74. Lattimore, a nurse, was born in Lawndale, North Carolina on December 29, 1933. She was a member at the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Eula Barrow Lawrence; husband, Lawyer Powell Lattimore Jr.; and 13 siblings. Lattimore is survived by her son, Thomas Gene Lattimore; daughters, Ann Lattimore and Felicia Wilson; sister, Rosia Lawrence; nephews, Ralph Lawrence and Jonathan Davis; nieces, Bertha Tivey and Mattie Lou Ellison; grandchildren, Eric White Sr. Tommy Lattimore, Isaiah Wilson, Zion Vinson and Shiloh Wilson; great-grandchildren, Eric Jr. and Asia White; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home. Visitation and services were held at First Baptist Church. A service was held at First Baptist Church in Lawndale. Interment was at Lawndale First Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawndale, North Carolina.
