Won't Sing 'Kumbaya'
Dear Editor,

So, the Policy of Appeasement is alive and well and practiced in the Rockaways. The West End Temple acquiesced to the demands of local bullies about the placing of a cell antenna above its building. An antennae, mind you, that is prevalent throughout the entire peninsula, since most educated people realize there is no danger emanating from these structures.

These buildings have been able to continue their business because of the revenue stream brought in by the wireless phone companies. Let us not kid ourselves.

This has nothing to do with cell antennas, or lower property values, or imagined dangers to the children. We know what it is about and to think that the members of the West End Temple and their oh so accepting neighbors are going to now join together in a circle and sing "kumbaya," is pure ignorance.

Shame on the Temple for appeasing neighbors who would have laughed in their face if the situation was reversed.
