Thanks Scholars'Academy
This letter was sent to The Scholars' Academy Principal Brian O'Connell after Lisa Langer, Lead Instructional Mentor of the Community Learning Support Organization visited the school with her Network Team. Dear Editor,

I just wanted to thank you for the truly informative morning at The Scholars' Academy. There's such a nice tone going throughout the building starting with administration that carries through with the teachers and students as well.

I don't know if I've seen a school where the students work at tables rather than desks. In addition to the time it saves for group work portion of the lessons, it really builds cohesiveness and community for the students. It was good to see the portfolios visible, as well as the monthly student goals posted in most rooms.

The student guides that escorted us around the building, Billy Buckley, Kiera Harris and Rebecca Moers, were wonderful in their roles. They really have such a sense of pride in their school. It's so nice to see that.

As you know, The Scholars' Academy has changed so much for the better since our days at JHS 180. You should be proud of what you've done for the Rockaway community, and being a Rockaway girl, I truly thank you for that! It's great to see a local boy "done good!"

LISA LANGER
