Neponsit Residents Protest Cell Tower
Mayor Grants Last Minute Reprieve to Locals

Neponsit residents and Democratic District Leader Lew Simon gather in front of 326 Beach 147 Street where the city hopes to install a cell tower on top of the light post in front of the home.
Lew Simon and president of the Neponsit Property Owners Association, Peter Sammon, address the crowd and urge them to gather as many residents as possible this Sunday in front of the home for a protest against the installation of cell towers right next to any Neponsit homes. However, right before going to press, The Wave learned from Community Board 14 District Manager Jonathan Gaska that, due to the overwhelming amount of opposition, Mayor Bloomberg has decided to hold off on the plan and reevaluate the intent.
