Neilson was born in Fort Apache, Bronx on May 12, 1926. She worked as a waitress at Taso's Diner and retired in 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Neilson. Neilson is survived by her children, Jacqueline, Jeffrey, John, Joanne, Janice, Joel and Richard; many grandchildren including Susan, Denise, Dawn, Cindy, Jennifer, Marcia, Jeffrey, Ashley, Colm, Raymond, Alyssa, Joel and Saray; many great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Adrienne, Tamara and Helen; and her puppy, Peanut.
Funeral arrangements were kept private.
