Sources close to the investigation told The Wave that the photo of Quinn, which ran in the paper for two weeks, assisted in providing the tip that led to his arrest. According to a spokesperson for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, Quinn approached 87-year-old Rosalie Stix outside of the Capitol One Bank branch at 17-39 Seagirt Boulevard at about 11:30 a.m. Court records show that he grabbed her purse, knocking her to the ground. He then fled the scene, leaving her dazed and bleeding on the sidewalk. In her purse was $60 as well as her Medicaid and debit cards. Stix sustained a broken pelvis and nerve damage to her groin. She was transported to the Peninsula Hospital Center, where she was treated until recently, when she was confined to a rehabilitation center receiving ongoing treatment for the injuries she sustained. Sources revealed that, when he was picked up, Quinn asked detectives if they were "going to take me back to Far Rockaway." When they told him that they were, detectives say, he refused to say anything more to the arresting officers. Quinn was arraigned in Queens Supreme Court on April 13, sources at the District Attorney's office told The Wave. Court records show that Quinn was charged with two counts of robbery, assault and two counts of grand larceny.
He is being held without bail for his next hearing, which is set for later this month.
