LWA Brings Charlie Brown To Life

Lawrence Woodmere Academy Upper School will perform You're a Good Man Charlie Brown! on Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m. The production, based on the characters created by cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, is about an average day in the life of Charlie Brown. Under the direction of upper school drama teacher Kathleen Glasberg, the audience follows Charlie Brown from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, through his crush on "the little redheaded girl" to his inability to start his book report.

"I chose this show because it made me smile and tear up with its whimsical quality. No matter what age you are, the show speaks to you," said Glasberg. "Little children can laugh at the thumb sucking and blanket stealing that goes on between Linus and Lucy, middle schoolers can appreciate counting words in their book report, and upper school students can remember what it was like to be younger, but can also appreciate the feeling of friendship and love that pervades the play."
