Scholars'Academy Hosts Visiting Principal Network

Principal Brain O'Connell, accompanied by scholars Kiera Harris, Billy Buckley and Angela Fan, welcomes principals from across the city.
The Scholars' Academy shared its "Outstanding Quality Review" rating's underlying practices with principals from across the five boroughs on April 10. Kathy Pelles' Principal Network visited the Scholars' Academy to explore why and how the Scholars' Academy received an "outstanding" rating on the 2007- 2008 quality review. Scholars' Academy students hosted the event, coordinated tours, and provided thorough explanations of the school's instructional and organizational practices.

On behalf of the visiting principals, network leader Pelles responded to the professional development by saying, "You, your school and your students are so impressive. Thank you for hosting the visit of my Network Principals and Network Support team. We all learned so much from you and your school!"
Principal O'Connell, along with student representatives Billy Buckley and Angela Fan, from 8 grade, and Kiera Harris and Rebecca Moers, from 9 grade, meet with principals from the Principal Network.
Students Congress President Billy Buckley commands the attention of Principal O'Connell and members of the Principal Network in the Scholars' Academy teachers' dining room.
