St. Rose Parish Welcomes Pope In Novel Way

As the Pope enters Rockaway airspace on his way into John F. Kennedy Airport tomorrow, parishioners at St. Rose Of Lima on Beach 84 Street hope that he will glance out the window and see the roof of the church emblazoned with a sign of welcome and endearment. A large, white sign on the roof of the auditorium says, "St. Rose Loves Pope Benedict XVI." One parishioner said, "We hope that he sees our welcome sign. Maybe it will get him to visit Rockaway."
