Romano Heads To Honolulu For Duty

U.S. Coast Guard Academy First Class Cadet Matthew Romano of Breezy Point is set to head to Honolulu for duty. Romano will report to U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Kukui homeported in Honolulu as deck watch officer for his first tour of duty.

This year, 52 percent of cadets will receive a billet that was in their top three picks and most of the graduating class will head to sea; Eighty-seven percent are assigned to afloat units, four percent will go ashore units; and nine percent will go straight to flight school.
