Demolishment Of Meat Packing Plant Ends Era

A nearly 100-year-old commercial era ended last week with the final demolishment of the former Loeb and Mayer Meats plant on Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Beach 65 Street. For many years, the plant served both the kosher and the New York City Public School communities. The business closed its doors several years ago and now the building was torn down to make way for a new Rockaway Beach Boulevard and commercial development associated with the Arverne By The Sea project.
