Pearlie Ianty James

Pearlie James, a longtime Rockaway resident, died April 2. She was 83.

James was born in West Bank, Guyana on June 27, 1925. She was awarded the honor of “Mother of the Year” by the Ex-Guyana Defense Force Association.

She was preceded in death by Ianty Williams and Joseph James.

James is survived by her children, Joan, Arlette, Lennox and Michael; grandchildren, Gary, Gavin, Tracey, Rawl, Owen and Mark; ten greatgrandchildren; and many friends and family members.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home. Visitation and services were held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Interment was at Church of God Cemetery in Plaisance, Guyana.
