SJEH Holds 'Tabletop' Disaster Drill

St. John's Episcopal Hospital held a tabletop drill for a disaster on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. A table-top drill provides a necessary exercise to test and improve the Hospital's state of disaster readiness. The scenario for the drill was an outbreak of smallpox in the New York City metropolitan area; its simulated response engaged personnel from many of the Hospital's departments including the Emergency Department, Section of Infectious Diseases, Purchasing, Dietary, Housekeeping, and Finance. The exercise was facilitated by Joseph Marcellino, healthcare consultant.
