Daniel Kenny
Summer Resident

Daniel Kenny, a lifelong summer Rockaway resident, died March 31. He was 64.

Kenny was born in New York on October 27, 1943. He served as a member of the Coast Guard Reserve in the 1960s. He also bartended at Gilroy's and Connolly's in the late 1960s. For the last 34 years, he spent his summers in the bungalow colony of Beach 109 Street. He retired from Local 829, Stagehands' Union, and worked at the Riverdale Country School in the Bronx.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Nancy Kenny; and sister, Peggy McCann.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Judy Kenny; children, Sarah Cooke and Danny Kenny; granddaughter, Tess Cooke; siblings, Kathleen Sullivan, Eddie, Mary and Andy Kenny; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Riverdale-On-Hudson Funeral Home, with visitation to be held on Friday, April 4, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Afuneral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 5 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Margaret of Cortona in Riverdale, New York.
