Six large marijuana plants, numerous bags of marijuana and a loaded 12- gauge shotgun were confiscated by members of the NYPD during an arrest of two males at a drug bust last month, police sources say.

Sources say that on March 15, the 101 Precinct's Anti-Crime Team took the drugs and the firearm off the street after they observed two men in the process of a marijuana sale in front of 21-07 Dix Avenue.

In an attempt to arrest the two, officers followed one man into a first floor apartment of the building where they saw a large quantity of marijuana and a firearm in plain view, court records show.

Officers placed the apartment's resident Michael Disbato, 20, and a friend, Dori Kuritzky, 24, of Halevy Drive in Cedarhurst under arrest.

Detectives secured a warrant to search for more evidence, and an additional large quantity of marijuana, six large potted marijuana plants, a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, United States currency in several different denominations, various drug paraphernalia, and growing apparatus/heat lamps were also found in the apartment.

The 101 Precinct's Anti-Crime Team recovered bags of marijuana, a 12-gauge shotgun and various denominations of money during the drug bust on March 15.
A spokesperson for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Kuritzky was arraigned on March 16 and charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree - a class B misdemeanor. The DA's spokesperson told The Wave "he was charged and the judge made the determination to ACD [adjourn with contemplation of dismissal] it."

If Kuritzky stays out of trouble for the next six months the case will be dismissed.

The case against Disbato was dropped with no explanation. According to the DA's representative, prosecutors did not accept the case and the file has been sealed.
