Stories Soar From Seaside School

More than 300 students from kindergarten through sixth grade gathered on Friday, February 14, to celebrate the unveiling of their books. The students produced autobiographies, essays, mysteries and science fiction stories. More than a dozen parents attended the event.
Sixth and seventh grade students unveiled the Seaside School's first collaborative book of poetry on March 7. Students worked with Renee McRae, founder of Poetic Motivation, for eight weeks to create an inspiring book filled with original poems. With the support of McRae, students, teachers and administrators wrote poems that tell the comical tale of preteen drama and analyze the struggles within society. McRae is an award-winning poet, who has been published in seven anthologies of the National Library of Poetry. She authored a book of poetry entitled "Truth In Rhyme."
