for larger version       John William Doscher John Doscher, a former Rockaway resident, died March 3. He was 89. Doscher was raised in Rockaway Beach and spent 40 years in the broadcasting business in New York City. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie Richardson Doscher; daughter, Laurette Doscher (Lou Benfante); sons, John W. Doscher (Karen), Robert Gibson (Patricia), Gerard Gibson and John Gibson (Kelly); six grandchildren; and brother, William (Jill).
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Island Funeral Home in South Carolina. A memorial service was held at Saint Francis by the Sea Catholic Church.
