Grossman To Speak At PHC Auxiliary Meeting

Dr. Martin Grossman, Director of Medicine at Peninsula Hospital Center, affiliate of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, is the scheduled guest speaker for the upcoming April 1 meeting of the Peninsula Auxiliary. Dr. Grossman's topic will be the presentation of plans for the proposed hospitalbased Hospice and Palliative Care unit at the Hospital Center.

The Auxiliary meeting is open to the public and President Sheila Schwartz extends an invitation to anyone in the community who would enjoy attending the monthly luncheon meeting. "Our numbers have been growing steadily over the past several months and we welcome all who want to be a part of our fundraising and community service mission," said Mrs. Schwartz. "By joining us for one of our meetings, you will hear about the many programs and services at the Hospital Center, be given an opportunity to give feedback and have real first-hand knowledge about what's happening. It is our community hospital after all; we should be involved. Additionally, spotlighting Dr. Grossman as this month's guest speaker will offer the opportunity for community members to hear from the Hospital Center's Director of Medicine.

The Auxiliary meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 1 at 12 noon in the Meditation Room of Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation, located directly adjacent to the hospital center at 50-51 Beach Channel Drive. The business meeting will start promptly at 12:00 p.m., followed by lunch at 12:15 p.m., with the speaker scheduled for 12:30 p.m.

In addition to its monthly meetings, the PHC Auxiliary sponsors an annual raffle and monthly bazaars through which it has been able to fundraise for the hospital. Those interested in being a part of the Peninsula Hospital Center Auxiliary may contact the Department of Public Affairs at 718-734-2507.
