for larger version       William Francis Flaherty William Flaherty, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died March 13. Flaherty, a systems analyst, was born in Rockaway Beach. He served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Rockaway Rockies, St. Francis Children's Choir and the St. Camillus Band. He is survived by his wife of 37 year, Meg Keating Flaherty; children, Kevin (Gloria), Bryanne and T.J. (Melissa); sister, Carol; grandchildren, Colin and Shannon; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. Services were held at St. Francis de Sales Church. Disposition was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
