Dombrowski Soars to All Big East/All New England Honors

Dylan Dombrowski, earned All Big East and All New England honors, supporting the University Of Connecticut's run to both the Big East and New England Championships this month.

Dombrowski, a freshman, scored sixth in the Big East Pole Vault clearing 15'3. Notre Dame, Rutgers, Louisville are among the 14 member schools that make up the Men's Big East Track & Field Conference.

The following week, Dombrowski placed second in New England Championships in the 7 event Heptathlon. Brown, Cornell, Harvard, Dartmouth are among the 57 member schools of the NEICAAA. The Heptathlon consists of the 55M dash, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, High Hurdles, Pole Vault and 1000M Run.

Dombrowski scored 4813 points in the heptathlon. He pole vaulted 15'9 in the event, winning the event by almost two feet. You can view the jumps entitled "2008 Indoor New England Hept Pole Vault" on Youtube.com
