Kummers, a retired legal secretary, was born in Rockaway Beach. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Joseph Barry and Helen Elizabeth Doyle; husband, Adolph "Sonny" Paul Kummers; sister, Helen Friel; and brother, John Barry. Kummers is survived by her son, John Kummers (Fran); and granddaughters, Christie and Tracy Kummers.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to The Moore Funeral Home in Valley Stream. Afuneral mass was celebrated at the Holy Name of Mary Church. Interment was at St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village, New York.
