Wrestling Comes To Rockaway

The Scholars' Academy co-educational wrestling team is hard working, determined and persistent. On February 26, the team had its first official match, against M.S. 225. The more experienced wrestlers wrestled first, starting off the match strong and with a big bang. Jonathan Maranga wrestled first with an effortless win. Marc D'Chiutus also won his match, focusing on dominating his opponent.

The second meeting of the two schools provided excellent practice for both teams and was a real test of skill. All of the coaches were very happy with their teams' performances. "This was a success for everyone," said Mr. Stiglitz, one of Scholars' coaches.

"It's great to see how the competition of athletics can bring a community together."
