Kearney Students Think Pink
Work To Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

Shown here are the cheerleaders, wearing pink tees, with the gift basket that was raffled off.
Bishop Kearney High School students joined hundreds of athletes in over 600 schools and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association in raising breast cancer awareness across the country.

The cheerleaders sold raffle tickets in the school cafeteria and a gift basket was raffled off at one of the league's basketball games, during half-time.

The school raised $1500, and sent $500 donations each to the Kay Yow/ WBCA Cancer Fund, the Tomorrows Childrens Fund and Memorial Sloan Kettering Pediatrics.

The Sloan Kettering donation was sent in honor of Caitlin Martin, the three-year-old daughter of a Kearney alumna, who is being treated at the center.
