FR Man Arrested For String Of Bank Robberies A Far Rockaway man was arrested this week for robbing a New Rochelle bank in late February and may also be charged for several other heists in Long Island and Connecticut, police sources say. The suspect identified by New Rochelle police officials as Jarbah Teh, 23, of 1829 Gateway Boulevard, allegedly walked into the Webster Bank in New Rochelle on February 23, and took more than $3,200 from the teller before fleeing the scene in a tan Mitsubishi Galant. According to police, Teh was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt when he walked up to the teller window shortly after 1 p.m. and handed a note to the employee stating that he had a gun and wanted cash. According to reports in The Wave, Teh, who was a 2006 graduate of the Navy's boot camp, once had a promising future in the Navy. New Rochelle police apprehended Teh at his Far Rockaway home on March 5, and arraigned him on first degree robbery charges the following day. He is currently being held on $500,000 bond by the Westchester County Department of Correction, police said. Teh's string of bank robberies isn't isolated to the New Rochelle bank, law enforcement sources say. After he was arrested, Teh reportedly confessed to police that he is also responsible for robbing a Darien, Connecticut bank of $1,100 on January 25, in which he followed the same method of handing the teller a note, saying he had a gun. Teh was captured when Darien police provided information about the January robbery to the New Rochelle detectives. New Rochelle police then used a mug shot from a previous New York City arrest to spot the suspect on pictures taken by surveillance cameras at the bank. Teh is also believed to be involved in a Nassau County robbery that oc-curred between the times of his Connecticut and New Rochelle heists.
According to New Rochelle court officials, Teh is expected back in court shortly.
