'Book of Kells' Workshop At SFDS

Anne Hourigan and Sophia Skeans
St. Francis de Sales Church held a "Book of Kells" workshop in the community room on Saturday, March 8. The event was hosted by Anne Hourigan and Sophia Skeans. The workshop was free to all participants. Children had the opportunity to paint their initials in Celtic writing on canvas frames. The younger participants took part in an activity in which they designed shamrocks. The stories of St. Patrick and the Book of Kells were told while Irish music played in the background.

The Book of Kells is a group of manuscripts produced from the late 6th through the early 9th centuries in Ireland, Scotland and England, and in areas with Irish or English foundations.
