St.Camillus Rookies Boys Have Winning Weekend

The St. Camillus Rookie Team suffered a tough loss on Friday night, February 22 in the first round of the St. Mary Gate of Heaven tourney.

St Helens would beat St. Camillus, 49-25. On Sunday, February 24, the Rookies bounced back for two wins.

At 1:30 p.m., they faced Hebrew Educational Society in Brooklyn and came away with a 44-34 victory, which brought their record to 5-1 in the Interparish Basketball League. Titus Stewart led the scoring with 14 points followed by Tristan Nevirs with 12 points.

Later in the day, they faced St. Greg in the first round of the CYO playoffs. The Rookies were firing on all cylinders as they gained a lopsided 56- 15 win. Anthony Laporta and Titus Stewart each had 16 points for St. Camillus, while Sean O'Connell had 12 points and Keon Delacruz had 8 points.
