Opening Tip-Off For Annual Peggy Boyle Tournament

The 10th Annual Peggy Boyle Girls Basketball Tournament began with a full slate of games at St. Francis this past weekend. This year's tournament is the largest field so far.

In the Subnovice division, Good Shepherd opened with a win over St. Thomas More Green, while St. Francis beat St. Thomas More White.

St. Francis Gold beat Good Shepherd in the Pee Wee Division, while Our Lady of Grace beat St. Francis Blue. Epiphany knocked off Long Beach Catholic, and St. Thomas More outlasted St. Ephrem in Novice Division action.

The Bantam Division first round games saw St. Mark advance over St, Thomas More, and Good Shepherd get past Epiphany. St. Francis Rookies beat Good Shepherd, and St. Patrick won a thriller over Our Lady of Hope.

Long Beach Catholic looks like the Intermediate favorites after beating Good Shepherd and St. Thomas Apostle got by St. Ephrem.

The games will resume on Sunday, March 2 and will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The championships will take place on March 15.
