for larger version       Best Wishes In Bad Times Can you please sponsor a discussion about how the recession is hitting the Rockaways? Surely, we have many victims of the subprime swindle. But we also pay higher gas prices, our kids don't have the recreational facilities promised to us, our delinquency soars. We know all that, but we count on our local media to keep before our eyes the fact that most of the impact in our hometown is due to the war and the billions thrown down the drain. The Feds are broke, NYS doesn't get help from the Feds, so NYC doesn't get help from NYS... And the downward spiral ends up on Mott Avenue and on Beach 116 Street. Let's not forget that our economic troubles are largely the result of the war in Iraq. Best wishes in bad times.
