Why Children Lie
Dear Editor,

Children lie to look big in their friends' eyes, to get attention, and to get out of trouble. They don't realize how a lie can hurt others. Take it from me; I know how a lie will hurt you. Children lie to justify their wrongs. When I was growing up, if I dared to tell a lie, my mother would know whether I was lying or not. In fact I couldn't even use the word lie in our house. It was worse than a curse word. Times are so different now; kids lie to their parents, teachers and authority.
