Disgusted By The 101
Dear Editor,

It has come to my attention that Rockaway Police Officers of the 101 Precinct do not really care about their jobs. It outrages me to read an article, like I just did, from an out of the Rock paper ["Getting out of Dodge," The Village Voice, February 5]. To see how officers use their time while patrolling and assisting with arrests (on cell phones or looking for other jobs). If you were actually paying attention, maybe NYPD would see you should be entitled to more money. I don't get paid to talk on my cell phone, why should you? Now I can see why the streets of Rockaway are so bad, the police are reading the newspapers and chatting up their friends, and talking about video games. This totally disgusts me. And to mock a woman in a housing hallway, now I see why people believe the 101 precinct is a joke!
